Turn Potential Into Success

Success skills

Do you know someone with an extraordinary talent? Maybe that person is a gifted athlete, artist, or musician. Or perhaps that person has a mind for business, is a master with numbers, or knows precisely how to handle people. Although this person has these gifts that some people would die for, they never seem to use their gift to help them reach their full potential. Or maybe they are applying their skills but just can’t seem to get past a certain level of accomplishment. Maybe you know someone like that. Maybe that someone is you. Everyone has the potential to be someone great. But sometimes the journey to greatness seems so impossible most never make the trip. Others start the journey but get so discouraged by obstacles and setbacks that they give in before they reach their destination. Here are five steps you can take to harness your potential so you can get to the promise land of success.

Know where you are going.

If someone were to ask you where do you see yourself financially in 5 years what would you say? You might say something like “I’d like to have enough money to get out of debt or buy a bigger house”. Those are good goals to have but how much money is enough money? Most people generalize their goals so much that specifics of what they want aren’t clear to them. That’s like if you asked someone where they were going on their vacation and they said, “We’re going to Florida and we’re staying near a beach”. You’d probably wonder where in Florida and which beach? If that person is really planning on going to Florida they are eventually going to have to decide whether they want to go to Daytona, Miami, or Key West. Once they’ve decided to go to Miami then getting there will be easier. The same is true of your goals. Write your goals down so you can see them. The sooner you know where you are going, the sooner you will get there.

Practice Your Potential

The most common mistake that most people make on their voyage is that they are not prepared for opportunities. The reason that they are not prepared for opportunities is that they did not practice their potential. In order for you to succeed you must be prepared for success. For example consider former NBA basketball player Steve Kerr. He would practice relentlessly and shoot hundreds of shots a day. Kerr’s most memorable moment came in 1997 championship game when his teammate Michael Jordan passed him the ball and Steve made the game winning shot. Although Steve Kerr shot hundreds of shots in preparation for the games, he only attempted a few shots a game. So why practice a hundred shots if you are only going to shot a few? Because those hundreds of shots Steve Kerr took were to prepare him for that one crucial time when he would need to make one important shot. You see if you want to succeed at something you have to be prepared for that moment of success. Read up on how others have succeeded where you want to succeed and be prepared for your moment when it comes.

Develop successful habits

The difference between the people who succeed and the people who fail lie in their habits. Most people might shrug off bad habits as something they’ve always done and will always do so there is no point in changing them. The truth is the very habits that they have accepted are the very reason they have not found success in some areas of their lives. If you were a manager and you had a choice to promote two people one who had a habit of being tardy and not completing assignments. And another who was always early and saw a project through to completion, which one would you choose?

Bounce back quickly

Success is a journey. This journey is littered with obstacles and setbacks that are designed to test your resiliency. These obstacles can be discouraging and can create the feeling of failure. Once that feeling is there you may entertain thoughts of giving up the journey. In order for you to bounce back quickly you must prepare yourself for these obstacles internally and externally. Do all that you can to prevent these setbacks from happening but if they do happen, remind yourself of your goal. Surround yourself with positive people who will encourage you when you are tempted to give up. Keep motivational materials around also. Posting motivational quotes or reading success stories may give you that recharge that you need to keep you going. The quicker you bounce back the quicker you will reach your goal.

Keep on Succeeding

Accomplishments feel good and encourage us to continue on to where we want to go. But once we succeed there is a way to keep on succeeding. The journey of success is never boring and never easy. There is always someone out there who will look at the things you have accomplished and wish they could do the same. Helping others succeed is the best way to keep on succeeding. Since you made it through the fire and came out a success, you’ve gained a lot of experience and will probably have a lot to share. Imagine the encouragement someone will feel when you tell them the story of your success and how you made it through those same obstacles that they are now facing. Passing on knowledge, resources, and wisdom to someone who has the same vision of success that you have is one of the most rewarding feelings anyone can have.

Respond to e-mails you get from clients, as you become notified person. Clients may get frustrated and give up your work to someone else when you are not responding properly.

3.Self Evaluation:

Evaluate yourself by analyzing your past work experience. Hence you can rectify it in future. Self evaluation is must for all freelancers to win heavy competition. List and study your strength and limitation to be aware of you in businesses. This leads to happy freelancing.

4.Good Communication with clients:

Effective communication with clients makes you understand the project easily. Ask doubts regarding your project to get clarity of work. Suggest your ideas to make best outcome. Make sure that you avoid family interfering into your work. Have a separate phone line dedicated for talking with clients. Keep your work phone away from children and other members of family. This maintains professionalism of job you do.

5.Make Your Office Room look Pleasant:

A good working environment makes you to love your job and amplifies your work ability. Have a comfortable desk and chair in your work room, since you are going to spend most of the time in it. Don’t make your room messy and untidy. Get rid of all excess stuff that is cluttering up the workplace. Avoid using your work room as multi-purpose room and dump other things in it. Having a dedicated office makes you relaxed in long working hours.

6.Maintaining  strict time line:

Some freelancers may have a problem of separating work with rest of life, since they work from home. To avoid this, follow strict time line for work. Take off at week end and work for rest of the days. Don’t work at late hours of a day. Fix timing according to nature of project you do and your mind set. You can take one day excuse but don’t repeat often. This may lead to heavy work load at the day of project submission.

7.Concentrate on Small Clients Also:

If you are fresher, just starting your career in freelance jobs then it is advisable to work under small clients. You gain skills by working for their projects. Include your works in profile after completing it. Many big clients may hesitate to provide job for you since you are new comer to this field with no experience. So it is merely waste of time to wait for big clients to offer project for you. Grasp small opportunities and build your career.

8.Take the Work Which is Up to You:

If you are well versed in writing skills, then start bidding for writing projects like technical writing, ghost writing, content writing etc. Don’t simply bid for other projects in which you are not specialized. This may spoil your reputation among clients. As a result they neglect you as bid winner for future projects.

9.Equip Yourself by Being Aware of New Technologies:

There are many software products available in market within affordable price. You can use those to learn latest online marketing techniques. Client will not hire a freelancer having skills of outdated technologies. They want their project to be done only based on new resource. Be willing to learn, in order to gain more projects and win the competition.

10.Have Financial Discipline:

It’s advisable to have separate bank accounts for business and personal use. Once you get payment after completing a project, deposit it on your business account. So it becomes easy to maintain record of your allowance for doing freelance jobs. By this approach you get job satisfaction.

Got Leadership Skills? Job Skills That Get You Employed

Success skills

Got leadership skills? Want a job? Companies are looking for leaders to move into executive positions.

The June 14, 2010 issue of Newsweek, reports “recruiters are desperate for top-tier talent.”

Jeff Joerres, chief executive of Manpower recruitment agency told the World Economic Forum earlier this year that “Thirty percent of employers across the globe continue to struggle to fill positions available.”

Best skills to have to get a job in management, or as an executive

How are your tech skills? Tech-based professions such as logistics, bio-tech, health services and info tech means that top-tier scientists, engineers and computer types are ideally positioned for the best executive position openings

IF…

If they also have the so called soft-skills associated with emotional intelligence, and adaptability, given the fact that China continues to grow economically, and businesses in India are expanding at 30 percent a year, comfort in other cultures could be the mother lode combo for a top job marketable resume.

]]>

So, if you’re not technical, what to do? We know for a fact that soft skills are a deal breaker. Doesn’t matter how technically savvy a person is if she or he can’t work in teams.

Can you teach tech people to strengthen their people skills? Might be an area to look into.

People Skills in the workplace and their relationship to emotional intelligence training

So, think about what kind of results you want. Let’s say you’d like to take your career to the next level, but you’re feeling, well like your soft skills aren’t good enough, so to speak.

As long as you do nothing new, nothing new will happen. Your company does expect a certain amount of people skills as well as learning other new skills, processes, and/or procedures, yes? Emotional intelligence training can help with this.

Tiny changes may be all that is needed to improve your people skills. The following are for those who are quiet at work. Because, don’t kid yourself, sometimes people have weird misconceptions about those reserved types, thinking instead that their soft skills are lacking.

The stereotypes include: They aren’t friendly, they don’t like people, they’re cold and unapproachable. Trust me on this one, if people are getting that vibe about you, you are likely limited in career progression.

So, if you are more quiet and reserved on the job and want to improve your people skills:

Start talking with more people at work. Then just start with eye contact and saying “good morning.” Told you these were tiny changes. More ideas for tiny changes, when someone says something in a meeting, even if you don’t have anything else to say, say, “great idea” (Obviously, only if you really think so!) When you walk by someone who is wearing something that looks good on them, if you’re comfortable, say, “Nice blouse.”

See, baby steps, here. You will start to seem more friendly, open and approachable. As a result, your soft skills will improve, and so will your chances of success in the workplace.

Learning soft skills and people skills–it’s all a part of emotional intelligence training.

How to Strengthen Your People Management Skills

People skills

As a human being, we need to interact and communicate with others. That is the reason why people management skill is one of the top priorities in life and business. With strong people management skill, you would be able to inspire and command people to heed your wish, you would be able to lead them. All successful leaders have a very good people management skill. It is perhaps the most crucial skill in an organization. As the success of an organization is dependent on the people who run it.

Even if you feel like you currently have none, you can gain these people skills by becoming familiar with some basic psychology and then putting this knowledge to work for you.

As human beings, we all have dreams and goals and we want people to encourage and support our dreams. We all also have fears and if someone can allay and help alleviate our fears, we would respect and trust him or her.

Here are some good ways to help you strengthen your people management skills:

1. Put yourself in people’s shoes. If you are in the same position, what would you do? Great managers know what other people think and feel. They quickly caught the thing and work hard to resolve problems between their teams. Ask yourself if you are willing to do the same thing.

2. Show gratitude and appreciation to people. Respect and appreciate hard works and innovations in your team. Let them know that you truly appreciate their efforts, treat them with respect. Always try to find new and interesting ways to show respect and appreciation to people who have worked hard for you.

3. Give sincere compliments. Think about what you really like about your team and give compliments often. If you are honest, chances are that the recipient will also appreciate your effort.

Personal Mastery And Your Kids

Personal Development

Why is it important to teach personal mastery to your children?

Our children nowadays are the next generation.  They would be facing a future that could hold immense possibilities and opportunities.  But even with this bright future waiting for them, there is also a sad future waiting, a future where uncertainties and materialism can be prevalent.  How can we prepare our children to face this kind of future.

It is beneficial to teach children a new set of values and attitude that would be good for the family.  Helping children develop personal mastery in early age will help them have a mindset and habits that could be an instrument for their success in the future.

The recently discovered personal mastery would help an individual to develop skills and behaviour that would help them deal with difficult circumstances.  Personal mastery enables an individual to understand the strengths and weaknesses of other people and deal with their emotions.  Aside from this, personal mastery encourages thinking outside the box and ability to take responsibility for their life.

These attitudes would be very beneficial for our kids.  Personal mastery can also help children develop confidence grounded on reality, different from arrogance, live life and inspire other people and the world.

How can we start teaching our children about personal mastery?

We could start teaching our kids early, with the current environment,  the chances that our kids would get affected by depression, anxiety, physical and mental health problems are also high.  Attitude changes attained through personal mastery are not innate.  It is important the our kids learn to keep their self-confidence and stay positive to be able to fulfil their dreams.

Start with telling your children about the facts of life like failure.  You could share your own failures and disappointments.  To help children deal with anger and frustration, you can start letting them know that failing is part of achieving big dreams. When you share experiences about failing something, make sure that they see the point that you continued with your dreams even if you failed once.

It is okay for your children to experience setbacks and unwanted outcomes.  Personal mastery is about being grounded to reality and dealing with difficult situations.  This experience would help your children understand on how to deal with their emotions.  Do not try to interfere too much, provide breathing and learning space for them.

For children to be successful adults, they need to be able to face challenged independently.  Children need to know that setbacks and anxiety can be normal, but they are there for them to overcome.

It would also be helpful if they would be able to identify themselves as a part of a whole.  Encouraging them to participate in extracurricular activities and team activities would help them develop their methods of interacting with peers and seniors.

But if they have joined groups and extracurricular activities, do not interfere or even provide your opinion.  Let them talk about it, like how they feel about being part of the team,  how could they help or interact with each other.  But otherwise, keep the opinions to yourself.

When teaching your children about personal mastery, do not teach them as if it is a lecture.  It would be less effective if you ask them to sit down and take down notes.  Introduce the concepts gradually and in different ways.  You can introduce it while talking over dinner and family activities.  Children would absorb them easily since they are integrated in their daily lives and it becomes natural learning.

Life Skills Learned From Working in Customer Service Industry

Success skills

When you do a service to others, there is some amount of nobility attached to it, even if it is a customer service which has a business motive behind it. Working in a customer service industry will not be a cake walk for all. One requires the right mental makeup, interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and so on, to be successful in a customer service industry.

Even if one lacks such qualities while joining such an industry, a sincere and committed working over a period of time definitely helps one to learn, gain and hone the specific skills needed in customer service.

Here are some skills that you can learn from working in the customer service industry:

1) Patience

Patience and controlling of anger are great virtues even from a spiritual point of view. Irate customers who happen to get disappointed over the problems they faced in the product / service provided by your firm will at times be too harsh in their words, too demanding in your response and too damning in condemning your products and services. “Customer is always right” is the first statement in the rule books of customer service and patience is the prime requisite in handling such customers.

 2)  Diplomacy

All said and done, you may not be practically in a position to meet your promised service deadlines or may not be 100% successful in resolving a problem. At times, the customer’s demands may be far beyond your legal and moral commitments. Many times you will not be permitted to state certain factual and obvious things black and white by your higher-ups in the interest of not antagonizing a customer. You will then naturally develop diplomatic skills (sugar coating the bitter realities, polished lying, skillfully hiding facts, stating the obvious in the most round-about way etc!).

Diplomacy is one great skill that will keep you in good stead in any job or situation you are put into in the course of your life.

 3)  Problem analysis and solving skills

When a service problem is assigned to you for solution, it is your responsibility to solve it amicably within the committed delivery period.  The quicker you are in analyzing the problem, the better you are in solving it. If you are a service technician, you will, by virtue of handling several similar and diverse problems, develop good experience in quickly analyzing and reaching to the root cause of a problem. “What is the quickest and easiest way to solve the problem?” is one constant thinking that will linger at the back of your mind always and this skill, when rightly honed, will be very helpful right through your life.

 4)  Commitment to time

People generally have the tendency to procrastinate any work. Such a mentality cannot work in customer service. Any problem reported by customer will carry a time tag to solve it and if it is missed, you will be at the firing end, not only from the customer but also from your higher-ups.

Procrastination is one bad quality that you will be able to get rid of if you work in customer service industry.

Thus working in a customer service industry is definitely very advantageous for one to improve one’s personality, humane qualities as well as technical skills. Such a person will gain lots of confidence in handling people as well as problems and he/she will be a good managerial material that corporate houses would love to recruit.

How Personality Development Programs Help You

Personal Development

Personality development, Personality is generally defined as the deeply ingrained and relatively enduring patterns of thought, feeling and behavior an individual’s personality is an aggregate conglomeration of decisions we’ve made throughout our lives (Bradshaw) There are inherent natural, genetic, and environmental factors that contribute to the development of our personality. There are several personality types as Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers illustrated in several personalities typology tests and theories like Intrapsychic theory Type theories. Trait theories. Social learning theory, et al.

Personality Development means enhancing and grooming one’s outer and inner self to bring about a positive change in one’s life. Personality Development is a set of achievements, understandings and personal attributes that make individuals more likely to gain employment and to be successful in their chosen occupations.
Soft-skill training, also called as personality-development training, is significant for the growth and survival of an individual in the arena of business management and career. Be it marketing, finance, human resource or banking, soft skills are essential for every manger to enhance the work efficiency and to achieve success.

Soft-skills are related to the ‘people’, their personal character and behavior traits, hence, are popularly called as the ‘people skills’. At good business schools these skills are rigorously imparted and interactively learned with an aim at developing strong corporate citizens and include the areas such as leadership skills, team-management skills and effective communication skills, we focus on three most important basic factors which is Attitude, Behavior and character.

Positive attitude is of great importance in our personality. No body like people who have narrowed out look. In life only that person is considered well behaved who has positive and healthy bend of mind. The real beauty of man lies not in his physical appearance but in his work and good qualities. That is why it is important that we improve mental outlook to develop our personality. If you want to progress in life than honestly analyze the traits of your character. Every individual should develop the ability to adjust with others, because basically man is a social animal, so one can not survive by living alone.

Is Artistic Skill Natural or Learned?

People skills

It is said that every person living holds a gift within them. It is also said that this gift is inherent and will only come out when it is discovered in some way.  In other words, when a person is of sufficient age that he or she suddenly finds a liking for a certain subject then it is like  a veil being lifted. Of course a person may show the signs of genius at a very early age – being able to work out complex mathematical equations and/or formulae.

Or they may show a natural ability in art and craft-work, producing pieces of work that far exceeds those that more experienced adults in their field have created. Every one of us, deep within ourselves, carries the gift of whatever subject we may like the most [or, for that matter, a subject that we may not have even tried before in our lives].

If this is the case, could this inherent gift have something to do with having lived before, in a previous life [reincarnation}?  There are scientists that are taking reincarnation seriously, and looking closely at the whole question of reincarnation and the inherent skills that some people may seem to carry within them.

Is there a connection between having lived before and the skills you may have within you now? This question deserves deep thought, as there are many people who believe, without a shadow of doubt, that their interest in one subject or another is down to exactly that…having lived before in a previous life.

Could these skills have been passed down genetically, through the years, until they are inherent in us?  Or, are they indeed learned? There is much to be said about the learning process and what we may, or may not take in – as far as the information we hold about a certain subject.

Indeed, some people may find that having signed up for a subject – be it in evening class, or adult learning – many people do find, and are shocked to discover, that their skill in their chosen subject shines through – especially when they have not studied it before and held no interests whatsoever in it.

Could it be that life works in such a way that only when certain people reach a certain age do the doors to that subject swing open, and they find a veil lifting from their eyes?  It would be like somebody suddenly discovering their own personal Rosetta Stone, finally cracking open the doors of that subject – when as a child in school we may have hated everything to do with that lesson.

Could it be that psychologically we may have reached a level in which we are then able to understand, and take in the information that we need for that said subject- discovering a skill for that subject that before we may not have had?

This is a subject that has long held in fascination scholars, thinkers and scientists alike.  There have been many cases in the past in which people have been born with the most amazing skills – be that in art, design, writing, mathematics, music, languages, or any other subject one cares to mention.  Such people seem to carry deep within themselves a gift to be able to work out the most complex mathematical equations, or produce the most stunning works of art.

There are many cases in the world of gifted children, who can do certain things far beyond the capacity of ordinary men or women – or for  that matter even professors and masters.  The question has to be, are these gifts inherent, or are they learned and passed down throughout generations of the same family – or even are they a one off?  It is said that genius is never really learned, but instead is born deep within a person.

If a person has a certain aptitude for a certain subject - whatever that subject may be - then does it follow they they are touched with genius?  How far does learning a subject go in determining the skill of the person to be able to take in the information? Due to the many cases throughout the world in which people can perform the most complex acts- as if they have been studying all of their lives –  then one has to say that in no way is their skill learned.

There is a world of difference between the two. To gain a skill through learning normally means months and years of hard work studying the said subject, going to college or university and then eventually gaining your qualification. If a skill is inherent, than that is a different story.

A person may show a touch of genius in a certain subject and may breeze through all of the exams with consummate ease. Or even their skill may not actually be academic, as such, but rather they may hold a gift in woodwork, metalwork, stained glass artwork.- someone may even hold a gift in the valuation of antiques, and may have a love of antiques that may be a puzzle to the rest of their family.

Whatever that gift that you may hold is, can you truly say that you feel it is inherent in you? Or, have you acquired it through the education process that has taken you months and years to get through?  Even if you are one that has never studied a certain subject before, but finds that you have a heightened skill, an aptitude and a natural ability for it could you then say it was inherent in you – a skill that you may not even have known about had you not taken up that subject? This happens many many times, and people are pleasantly surprised by such a discovery of themselves.

Could this then be the proof that is needed that inherent gifts do indeed exist within us all. It is up to us to discover those gifts within ourselves. Will some people discover them as children, being able to do things way beyond their years?  Or will some people discover their gifts much later in life, subjects that they had no interest whatsoever in, but now are experts in their own fields?

The human mind is a wonderful thing to behold. We understand a lot more about the brain and its workings then we did a century or so ago, but still, there are parts of the brain that remain undiscovered even in the 21st Century. Could the eventual discovery of the hidden parts of our own brains finally lead to the answers we have all been searching for, in terms of artistic skill being learned or natural?  And as for reincarnation and past memory, one has to say that their is enough evidence to suggest that past life memory/reincarnation, plays a major part.

Your Journey To Success

Success skills

Similar to a trip planning, you need to define the following details: origin, destination, vehicle, backpack, landmarks, and route.
Knowing and understanding all of these will certainly help you enjoy your journey.

Origin:  Who you are (or where you are?)

A journey has a starting point. Your origin is who you are right now. To gain insights about yourself, you need to look closely at your beliefs, values, and principles aside from your economic, professional, cultural, and civil status. Moreover, you can also reflect on your experiences to give you insights on your good and not-so-good traits, skills, knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses.

Destination: A vision of who you want to be (where you want to go?)

“Who do want to be?” this is your vision. Now it is important that you know yourself so that you would have a clearer idea of who you want to be; and the things you want to change whether they are attitudes, habits, or points of view. If you hardly know yourself, then your vision and targets for the future would also be unclear. Your destination should cover all the aspects of your being: the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual.

Vehicle: Your Mission

A vehicle is the means by which you can reach your destination. It can be an analogy to your mission or vocation in life. To a great extent, your mission would depend on what you know about yourself.

Travel Bag: Your knowledge, skills, and attitude

Food, drinks, medicines, and other traveling necessities are contained in a bag. Applying this concept to your life map, you also bring with you certain knowledge, skills, and attitudes. These determine your competence and help you in attaining your vision. Given such, there is a need for you to assess what knowledge, skills, and attitudes you have at present and what you need to gain along the way. This two-fold assessment will give you insights on your landmarks or measures of success.

Landmarks and Route:

Landmarks confirm if you are on the right track while the route determines the travel time. Thus, in planning out your life, you also need to have landmarks and a route. These landmarks are your measures of success. These measures must be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound.

Anticipate Turns, Detours, and Potholes:

The purpose of your life map is to minimize hasty and spur-of-the-moment decisions that can make you lose your way. But oftentimes our plans are modified along the way due to some inconveniences, delays, and other situations beyond our control. Like in any path, there are turns, detours, and potholes thus; we must anticipate them and adjust accordingly.

Enjoy your journey

Happy and Healthy Living to you

Why Do We Need Personal Development to Be Successful?

Personal Development

In order to really answer that, we need to define what we mean by personal development. In my opinion, personal development is:

Growth as a conscious human being
Activities that improve self-knowledge and identity
Development of talents and potential
Development in different areas of life
Building of human capital and employability
Enhancing the quality of life
Contributing to the realization of dreams and aspirations
Is not limited to self-development but includes formal and informal activities for developing others
In the context of institutions, it refers to the methods, programs, tools, techniques, and assessment systems that support human development at the individual level in organizations
(hard) work that requires discipline, determination, consistency, patience, time, courage, forgiveness

Let’s then take a closer look at some of these bullet points in correlation to success.

Improving your self-knowledge and identity means, among other things, that you become more aware of who you are and what you want. Knowing what you want and where you need to improve yourself in order to achieve what you want are essential parts of success.

If you have already achieved success you cannot stay put if you want to remain successful. The world and other people around you are constantly evolving; therefore you need to keep on developing your talents and potential further. Otherwise, your success will remain short term.

]]>

Depending on your goals, you need constant development in different areas of your life, not just in one. Some of these areas might include health, finances, relationships, emotions, habits and beliefs, to mention a few. A good health will ensure that you are able to do what you want to do. It is obvious that you can do a lot more as a healthy person than you would lying sick on a bed. It is obvious, in most cases, that you can achieve more and free yourself from some of the worries when your financial situation is stable. It is obvious that you can achieve more when you have sound relationships with supporting and loving people to back you up. And so on.

Having activities for developing others, in addition to developing yourself, is really what gives you the final boost for success. The old saying “what goes around, comes around” applies here quite well. Helping other people succeed will ensure that they willingly help you in return. It is much, much more difficult – and in most cases even impossible – to achieve success just by yourself. You can’t be the master of everything. And you shouldn’t even try to be. Concentrate on doing well what you love doing and let other people help you in the areas that they love doing. Help others develop themselves and they will help you develop yourself. That is for everybody’s benefit.

Finally, understand that long lasting success does require work. At times, it can even seem to require hard work. But once you have found what it is that you truly love doing, the work doesn’t seem that hard anymore. But it will require discipline, so that you keep your focus on your goals. It will require determination because there will be a lot of people who’ll try to talk you out of your dream. It will require consistency because you will encounter many obstacles along the way and you’ll have to be consistent to work your way through and around them. It will require patience because the bigger your dream, the more it will take time. It will require courage because you will move toward something that is unknown to you. And, maybe most of all, it will require forgiveness because you will have to forgive yourself for all the mistakes you have made, and will make, and you must also forgive others who have hurt you, so you can move into the future with a clean slate.

And that is all part of the road to success.
